Tear You Apart
Tear You Apart is a song I wrote that's actually featured in Crimson Faded. Ophelia, a dramatic vampire and Musical Theatre student, sings it threateningly at the local pub. She's trying to intimidate the moody, morally grey hunter, Lucas, but it doesn't work the way she wanted.

I wrote the scene first, with the lyrics and then created the melody and rest of the song afterwards. I wanted it to be quite hypnotic, especially with the bridge, which is particularly eerie, ethereal and maybe just a bit dramatic to match the vibe of the scene.

Get to know me :)
Hi I’m Caerys :) Before I started writing novels, I used to write music. (I still do, just not as much.)
Being raised in Liverpool, music has always been a big part of my life—it still is, it’s what helps me write! I also dabbled in a bit of musical theatre too, but I have the rhythm of a vomiting chihuahua, so that wasn't really for me in the end.

I studied music in university, and I loved it! I loved writing, performing but I found all of my songs were woven with stories and so I began to put them onto paper, and I found that I loved that even more!

I started off creating my own characters and adding them into different plots and movies, mostly Marvel, or taking pre-existing characters from my favourite things (the Marauders for example) and putting them in different scenarios, like a zombie apocalypse—that was a fun one! (Yeah, pretty much fan fiction, I know, no shame in it.)
That grew into short stories and ideas, which took over my every waking thought, until I finally jotted it all down and wrote a book and here we are today!

I’ve always been fascinated with the supernatural. I’ll admit, I was an avid Twilight lover and grew up obsessed with dark, gothic, love-struck tragedies. Witches, dark fantasies, sirens, pretty much all things magical.
Vampires were always my favourite, if you can't tell. I just think there's something so romantic about them and dramatic—Vampires are literally the most dramatic creatures and you can't convince me otherwise, just look at What We Do In The Shadows, that's not even fiction, it's fact.
The first book series I fell in love with when I was younger was The Saga of Darren Shan, which explains my love of vampires. That led onto books like The Mortal Instruments, Percy Jackson and an overall love of the Urban fantasy genre, which is what my book falls under, unsurprisingly.
Recently I've become obsessed with high fantasies, like Caraval and Powerless. My favourite book series at the minute is the Cruel Prince, I can't get enough. More Cardan Greenbriar please :)
