She prefers to go by her middle name, Hazel, it’s less formal than Dominique. Plus, her mother has always called her by her middle name, something to do with complicated relatives on her father’s side, although she’s not quite sure what that’s about. 

Hazel’s always wearing band t-shirts and fishnet tights, along with her trusty leather jacket. Sometimes she draws stars on the outer corners of her eyes, but she wipes them off before leaving home. 

​Her favourite movies are Coraline, Scream and Death Becomes Her, which she used to watch a lot with Ophelia when they were younger. She doesn't watch it as much anymore.

When she’s not sleeping—which was one of her favourite hobbies up until recently, she’s playing guitar. Hazel loves music, especially artists like AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and Kate Bush.

Lucas has never really been to a school before, not a proper one anyway. All he’s ever known is training, hunting. He’s one of the most skilled Nosferatu Warriors of his age. Not that he speaks to many others his age, other than Farah, but that's okay, he's always preferred his own company.

He’s good with a dagger, but he’d rather be reading than fighting. Lucas likes to write too. He secretly jots everything down, all his thoughts, opinions and tactical notes. If he wasn’t a hunter, he’d probably want to be a writer.

All Lucas wears is black hoodies, but every now and then he'll throw in a dark green one—if he's feeling adventurous.

He doesn’t really watch movies, no time for it but if he had to pick he'd probably say his favourite was an old slasher movie (but really its Pirates of the Caribbean). In his free time he listens to Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Billie Eilish.

Caleb is Ophelia’s older brother. Even though his sister isn’t friends with Hazel anymore, he’s always had a soft spot for her since they were kids. He’s sweeter than his sister, more enthusiastic and hopeful. Which is great when they’re not in life-threatening situations, but even that can’t wipe the smirk off his face. 

He comes from a long line of vampires, the Thorns. His uncle has a seat on the Arcane council, which is a big deal in the supernatural world! While most of his family are pretty comfortable with their abilities, there are some Caleb refrains from using—he doesn’t think it’s right. 

He loves retro games and consoles, especially anything to do with Legend of Zelda. Caleb also likes comics, graphic novels and Spider-Man, and yes, it's because he thinks he practically is Spider-Man, in vampire form anyway. His favourite movie is Jurassic Park. Artists he listens to are Harry Styles, Fleetwood Mac and the Smiths.​​

Ophelia used to be Hazel’s best friend, then puberty hit and she became something truly evil: a teenage girl with over-powered popularity.

She uses snide comments as a defensive mechanism and has a stare so stone cold she’s practically Medusa. Under all that she’s actually really insecure, she just hides it with a layer of red lipstick and a bitter-sweet smile.

Like her older brother she comes from a long line of vampires, and unlike him she uses every advantage she can. She’s a good fighter when she needs to be, but she can be a little hot-headed and sometimes that gets her into trouble—luckily Caleb is always there to help her out of it. 

​Ophelia prefers musicals to movies, and prefers being in them to watching them. Her favourite is Chicago, but she also loves Moulin Rouge, Rent and Mamma Mia. (ABBA is her guilty pleasure.)

Aside from musicals, she listens to Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. ​​

The first thing you'd notice about Amber is that she always smells of baked goods, because she’s always pulling them out from somewhere. That girl has an endless supply of tupperware boxes. Amber has been Hazel’s best friend for a little over three years. She moved to Aramoor Bridge when she was fifteen, after her mother died, but she doesn’t like to talk about that much. 

She's pretty much always in paisley cardigans and sweaters and carrying around tote bags full of books, cinnamon swirls and emergency hangover supplies. For a top grade student she’s not shy to 2 for 1 cocktails at the local pub. Amber’s all about having a good education and a good time all at once, whether Hazel wants to be dragged into it or not. 

Her favourite movie is Little Women, but she also loves a cheesy rom-com, no matter how bad they are.

She listens to Taylor Swift, Florence and the Machine and Lana Del Ray.

Farah is another Nosferatu Warrior and Lucas’s best—and only—friend. She was placed into Lucas’s group after a tragic incident in her own one, though she never let it hinder her spirit. She’s always believed there’s more good in the world than evil, and that goes for the very monsters they’re supposed to hunt—not many hunters agree with her on that, not even Lucas. 

She’s good with a staff and quick on her feet. Farah’s very crafty, so if you can’t find her she’s probably up in a tree somewhere. Her tent is always lit up with some sort of incense candle, and scattered with gemstones. 

If she were to pick a movie she’d go for something like Labyrinth or Alice in Wonderland. Her favourite artists are Kate Bush, David Bowie and Stevie Nicks.
